A Legacy Statement That Wears Well with Time
Art Is Dope – Denim Jacket
Overview
Before Everyday I’m Doodling, there was Art Is Dope. A phrase, a feeling, and a wearable reminder that creativity is culture. Over a decade ago, I hand-painted a small run of denim jackets using red, black, and white fabric paint. What started as tees that traveled the globe evolved into a timeless outerwear statement—made for friends, fam, and folks who live the art life out loud.
Process
This was pre-drops, pre-merch sites, pre-hype.
I grabbed 3 to 6 denim jackets, laid them flat, and with just fabric paint and freehand energy, I brought “Art Is Dope” to life—big, bold, and unapologetic across the back panels. Each piece was painted with the same care I give to canvas, but meant to be worn, weathered, and lived in.
These weren’t mass-produced—they were handmade artifacts that said something every time you walked into a room.
It’s more than merch—it’s proof that when art is honest, it stays fresh.
Impact
15 years later, these jackets still hold shape—and still turn heads. The message hasn’t aged, and neither has the look. In a world full of trendy slogans, Art Is Dope still hits different: a statement for creatives, collectors, and culture lovers alike.
